Susan Amann

Susan Amann has been the of Director of Spiritual Ministry with the Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary since July of 2019. Susan earned her degree in Justice Ministry from Catholic Theological Union and completed a training program in Spiritual Companioning from Claret Center in Chicago. She has published and delivered papers on the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the life of the Church. Susan has been married to Steve for over 30 years; they have 5 children.

Sr. Carol Karnitsky, sscm

Sister Carol Karnitsky, sscm, was introduced to the spirit and charism of the Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary at St. Gall parish school, Chicago. She enjoys reading good fiction, composing poetry, viewing films, and lamenting the sad state of the Chicago White Sox. She currently lives in Kankakee, Illinois where she serves as Province Leader of the SSCMs.

Sr. Myra Lambert, sscm

Sister Myra Lambert, sscm is a member of the Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary. Sister has been missioned in education, parish ministry, vocation ministry and currently spiritual direction ministry. She has a great love of history, spirituality and poetry. An avid reader, Sister tries to keep current in many areas. During the pandemic, a great delight has been to learn new means of communication and sharing.

Karen Lance

Karen Lance, lives in Newburgh, IN. Karen has her MBA with a background in education, finance, and project management. After an injury and disability, Karen’s life changed, and she is now a part of the SSCM family with the Consecrated Laity program since 2021.

Frank Modica

Frank C. Modica taught children with special needs for over 34 years. Frank and his wife Pam Deley have been members of the Mercy Affiliates, in Urbana, Illinois, since 2015. Frank coordinates the lectors at his home parish, St. Patrick Church, and helps with the Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.

Sr. Evelyn Varboncoeur, sscm

St. Mary Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois was home for several years where Sr. Evelyn enjoyed ministry as a medical technologist. Health care ministry expanded to include board and sponsorship presence at hospitals and health care systems levels. Sister served the Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary as a general councilor in Montreal and presently in formation ministry in Batavia.
